Art Born of Urgency

In September 1787, at the close of the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, Elizabeth Willing Powel asked Benjamin Franklin whether the new American government was a republic or a monarchy.

Franklin replied, "A republic, if you can keep it."

Those words carry more urgency today than ever. A true democracy is never self-sustaining; it must be continually defended. Equity must be fought for, and living in a just society requires fierce vigilance. Capitalism itself is not the enemy, but unregulated and unchecked economic power predictably funnels wealth and influence into fewer and fewer hands.

The stories we are told about what is natural, fair, and just are often constructed to protect systems that profit from our compliance. Xenophobia, racism, and division are constantly stoked to keep us fractured—distracting us from uniting against the root causes of economic inequality, social injustice and systemic oppression..

The time for complacency is over. It is time to push back. It is time to reject environmental destruction, and manufactured scarcity. It is time to call out the exploitation, and refuse mass surveillance. The institutions claiming dominion over modern life have grown reckless in their pursuit of control.

As it has always been throughout history, the responsibility falls on everyday people to draw the line and safeguard an economically and ecologically sound world for future generations. Ordinary people have always driven real change, and it is up to us to say: no more.

Through our apparel, commentary, and upcoming books, our purpose is to spark honest dialogue, dismantle complacency, and equip people with ideas that empower. Our work spans sharp political satire, systemic critique, and uncompromising calls for collective action. If our voice occasionally provokes or unsettles, it is never to cause senseless harm—it is to disrupt apathy, challenge comfortable assumptions, and elicit engagement.

It is not too late to shape the future, to build something better, but the moment demands action. Wear our work with personal dignity, look out for one another, and let’s start the conversation.
